Thinking That Puppets May Be Easier

Friday, June 20th, 2008

Awhile back I was trying to learn flash animation, in the hope I would make some Brenda’s Friends animations. I got to a point where I was having problems getting my flash lessons to work right. To overcome my learning curve I need to really put in a lot of time. I am not saying I won’t make the animations, just I may need some more knowledge and knowledgeable persons.

I have been thinking. Maybe using puppets to tell Brenda’s stories may be easier to do than flash animations . It may be an easier creative outlet and equally entertaining. It would allow me to work on sound, timing and story line development. I have a digital camera. I have a very basic editing program. I really need a sound editing program. Any input would really help. What I need most is peers to talk to.

Here are a few paper puppets I have made.

My Dad Is The Best Dad

Lately Brenda calls my dad “Papoo Show”. All his Grand children call him Papa Lou. For a while she just called him Pa Poo for Papa Lou, but for some reason she heard his and our last. Now she call him “Papoo Show”.

All I can say for sure is that he is the—-

Some Socializing Difficulty With Brenda

Friday, June 13th, 2008

Brenda, like all toddlers, has to learn to be a social citizen.  “Mine”, is a word Brenda rarely uses at home. However, put her in public or visit a friends and near everything she gets her hands on becomes hers, in her mind. Social skills are built in time with experience. I would like to enhance her experience with others to nurture Brenda into a well rounded girl. I know this is the normal experiene of a two year old.

She has been socializing nicely when the opportunity presents itself. She is an only child and is not in school yet, but has a few close friends around her age that she hangs out with on a regular basis. Toddler days at the library are one way she gets to be with other little ones. See has been doing better and better at doing the various actitivies at the library.

The playground is another place that presents opprotunities to socialize. Other kids at the playground present a chance to socialize, but she has a hard time sharing. She is getting better with it the more time she spends at the park. On occasion she has taken kids buckets and shovels, but she is so sweet to give them back when she is done. I would  appreciate any thoughts on how to make the transition easier for her.

Father’s Day Is Coming

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

The U.S.A.’s Father’s Day is Sunday, June 15 2008

If your dad is anything like mine, he is the hardest person in your family to shop for. I hate to say it, but I jsut don’t know what he needs. I don’t want to get him another tie. He must have 100. He has about every tool he could ever need. When I ask him what he needs he tells me sock. That just isn’t enough. He deserves more than socks.

So what to do? It may lack creativity, but I get my dad a gift card. That way he can get what ever he wants. This year I am getting him a Amazon.om Gift Card.

Fun Project Brenda Created All By Herself

After it rain the others Brenda went outside and started play with some of the small puddles out on the patio. She took a brush and started painting with the water on the ground. It was really cute and she had a good time. Here are some pictures from that day.

You have heard of water colors. This is water lack of colors. Try is any time you don’t have to wait for it to rain. Just pour some water on the floor out side. And talk about easy clean up. The sun will do all the work for you.

If you like this idea let me know. If you try it out let Brenda’s friends know how it went.
